Senior Correspondent Stephanie Yuhl is a historian and professor of history at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. She earned her PhD in US history from Duke University and teaches courses on 20th-century United States cultural and social history, women’s history, southern history; and public history. She has published articles in the Journal of Southern History and The Public Historian, as well as in several collections of essays. Stephanie is the author of the book, A Golden Haze of Memory: The Making of Historic Charleston (University of North Carolina Press, 2005). This work was awarded both the 2006 Willie Lee Rose Prize from the Southern Association of Women’s Historians for the best book published in southern history in 2006 by a woman and the 2006 Historic Preservation Book Prize.
